Going into the busy summer season here in British Columbia 50 North Adventures wanted to streamline and simplify their booking process for both their clients and for themselves on the admin side as well. Online bookings for their main tours was a must so we settled on the Premium WordPress plugin called Bookly to be the main backbone of the new system.
Bookly Pro is relatively easy to work with compared to the many other booking calendars we have worked with specifically for WordPress. The one issue we found was that anything extra you want you have to purchase the additional pro add-ons. The one time price of these isn’t that much, but some of the features we felt should have been built into the main plugin while some of them did make sense to be additional add on plugins. For this project, we needed a few extra add ons which increased the software costs and increases the total number of plugins running on the site but this is the only real drawback to using bookly, and no plugin is perfect and overall we are satisfied with the end result.
The bookly calendar on 50 North completely syncs with Google Calendar which was important for the client as other booking platforms also sync with google calendar making this an easy place to view all bookings from all third party booking sites.
The client decided not to take payment at this time through the website, but this is an easy add on at a later time through Bookly.
We are happy to see 50 North Adventures taking its first step into automating their tour booking process and look forward to fine tuning and increasing the automation in the future.
