Dodge City Cycles has been wanting the ability to book bike rentals and demo bikes through their website for a long time so it’s a real pleasure to share that this feature is now added onto their existing website in a new Rentals page.
We decided to use the Woocommerce Ecommerce plugin for the core of the functionality with the additional Woocommerce Bookings official plugin for the extra features needed for the booking calendar aspect. After building out a couple of other booking calendar plugins in the last year we really wanted to give this plugin a try and overall we are happy with the plugins features and end result.
Customers can now choose from several different demo or rental bikes on the website, select their dates and then book their rental. They can also filter the bikes by electric vs standard. A
ll the great features of woocommerce provide the transactional emails for the customer and administrator. Bookings in this case don’t require any payment so that is done in person when they pick up the bike. The system has been running through the late summer and into the fall and has been hassle free for users and for the site managers.
